Fire at Amur gas refinery in Russia’s Far East almost contained
BLAGOVESHCHENSK, Oct 8 (PRIME) -- Residual combustion at the Amur gas refinery in Russia’s Far East is being contained after a blast of gas, a spokesperson for the plant told PRIME on Friday.
“The fire has been localized, residual combustion is being contained,” the person said.
Spokespersons for the facility said that the blaze broke out earlier on Friday following decompression of the plant’s equipment. No one has been injured, there is no threat for the facility or nearby settlements.
The Amur Region’s prosecutor’s office said that it had started a check on the incident.
